Venue: Chelmsford City Museum in Essex Authors & Creatives for CALFE 2023 Three years into the Online CALFE (Children & Authors' Literary Fanfare & Events) marked a significant achievement in the founder's desire to see culturally diverse books in the hands of children, not just within school or library settings, but as joint family experiences. When Sade decided to flow with the idea of creating a forum for authors of African and Caribbean heritage in 2021, it was mainly due to the imposed lockdown and the need to help herself and other authors sail through isolation. Not being able to visit schools, libraries and festivals, she had experienced a good number of event cancellations and was aware of her frustrations.
